The virgin Mary carried Jesus in her womb. There was nothing special about her. She was an average young woman. But she got to do something special: carry the Son of God.
The donkey carried Jesus into Jerusalem. There was nothing special about it. It was an average donkey. But it got to do something special: carry the Son of God.
The cross carried Jesus to his death. There was nothing special about it. It was an average cross. But it got to do something special: carry the Son of God.
The tomb carried Jesus to his resurrection. There was nothing special about it. It was an average tomb. But it got to do something special: carry the Son of God.
Jesus didn't stay in Mary's womb. Jesus didn't stay on the donkey. Jesus didn't stay on the cross. Jesus didn't stay in the tomb.
He is the life giving water. We are just the pipes.
He is the beautiful view. We are just the window.
He is the five-course meal. We are just the plates.
Paper plates.
There is nothing special about us. We are average pipes, windows, and plates. But we get to do something special: we get to carry the Son of God.
