Mondays with Marty 3/22/2020

Friends,

In times of stress, it's good to have God's Word right at your fingertips, even on the tip of your tongue. The best way to do that is by memorizing verses you find comforting. Here are seven passages picked to bring comfort. Why not memorize one a day between now and next Monday?

Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God.

    I will be exalted among the nations,

    I will be exalted in the earth."

Matthew 6:25

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life."

Matthew 6:34

"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Psalm 62:8

"Trust in him at all times, O people;

    pour out your heart before him;

    God is a refuge for us."

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

    and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

    and he will make straight your paths."

Isaiah 26:4

"Trust in the Lord forever,

    for the Lord God is an everlasting rock."

Philippians 4:4-7

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness[a] be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

In Christ,

Pastor Marty Hufford.
