Mondays with Marty 2/3/19

When do you feel closest to God?  For Jesus, it was when he was outside and alone in prayer.  For me, it's often right after I receive the Lord's Supper.  It's different for everyone.  Some people come into God's presence through music, others when they are serving the poor.  Othetrs feel God's arms around them when they are reading scripture or working with their hands.  This is not an "including but not limited to" list.

Something to Ponder: Think back over your life.  When have you felt closest to God?  Is there a pattern?  Try to find one.

Something to Pray About: Ask Jesus to help you understand the unique way he made you to know him and feel close to him.  Be persistent.  Keep knocking on his door until he gives you and answer.

Something to Put into Action: Once you know what works for you, make it a habit.  Carve out time for this.  And let me know how it goes.

In Christ,

Pastor Marty
